Our Cars & Coffee host: Calder park Thunderdome
Did you know the inaugural meeting on a bitumen track was run by the Australian Motor Sports Club and took place on 14 January 1962 at Calder Park Raceway?
The complex through its history has hosted a dragstrip, a road circuit with several possible configurations, and the “Thunderdome”, a high-speed banked oval equipped to race either clockwise has hosted events ranging from Australian touring cars, historics, Super Tourers, Super Trucks and Super Bikes to rock concerts featuring world class artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Santana and Guns N’ Roses.

I can still picture those Friday nights at Calder Park Thunderdome, heading out with my family for the drags. It was my late father’s favourite tradition, something we all shared together. Just the other week, I took my 4-year-old son there, and it was like stepping back in time. The magic was still in the air, just as I remembered it.
Enthusiast’s Cars & Coffee events are a vibrant mix of typically up to 300 vehicles, spanning various makes and models. It’s a place where car lovers from diverse backgrounds come together to showcase and admire these mechanical beauties.
Please note: Some of our Cars & Coffee events have restricted numbers, as such we recommend arriving as close to the start time as possible if you want to secure a car spot.

Please note: Space for feature cars is limited, and we’ll be handpicking them for their distinctiveness. Monetary compensation isn’t on the table, but we’re revving up to offer a select few a professional photo shoot with their car at the event. It’s your chance to join an exclusive lineup and bond with fellow car aficionados.

Cars and coffee is a meet-up for car enthusiasts to get together and share their love of cars.
Absolutely free for both spectators and car exhibitors.
Please respect the vehicles – look but don’t touch. Please maintain a respectable distance from the vehicles, and show respect to fellow attendees.
Drive responsibly and avoid reckless behavior. Failure to comply may result in expulsion and potential police involvement.
Typical Turnout – we usually see up to 300 cars, ranging from Mazda RX7s to Porsches, and including classic muscle cars like the Aussie Torana.
Featured Car – look out for details about the event’s special feature car.
Spot Reservations – currently, spots are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
We are considering VIP spots for standout cars in future events.
While our events are not specifically tailored for children, families are warmly welcomed.
We urge parents to keep close to their kids, especially the little ones, and refrain from bringing items that could damage the vehicles.
